Keonté – the young but wisely talented POP/R&B artist, singer-songwriter, piano player & dancer has made a big splash in Nova Scotia’s music scene. Already a multi-award winner, Keontés future is unfolding to be a bright one.
Keonté Shamar Beals, born and raised in North Preston Nova Scotia, started singing, dancing & performing at the age of 7. Since finding a passion in entertainment, at the age of 16 Keonté had his first solo in his home church Saint Thomas Baptist Church in North Preston, NS. This particular solo opened up many opportunities to sing at other churches and church events all around Halifax that generated great buzz about the young singer.
Keonté is A multi-award winning artist including awards such as Music Nova Scotia’s Inspirational Recording of the Year award winner, MLA Rising Star award which was awarded by the Honorable Keith Colwell, Bronze award in The Coasts ‘Best of Halifax’ in the ‘Best R&B Artist’ category, ANSMA Rising Star of the Year Award Winner 2016, ESSO Festivals Fan Choice award 2016, ANSMA’s Emerging Artist of the Year award 2015 and one of the three 2014 award recipients of the Partnership of Hope Award presented by CHAMA.
Jody Upshaw - 15-year-old singing sensation Jody Upshaw Canada's own, from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Pushing the envelope with each performance, cover or track. Jody has performed all over the Halifax area like Nocturne Halifax, Natal Day Esso Youth Showcase, Teens Now Talk Expo and the UNI Gottingen St. Festival and has worked with multiple local artists including J-Bru, Shevy Price, Neon Dreams and Classified.
Owen 'O'Sound' Lee - Born and raised in Toronto, Owen ‘O’Sound’ Lee discovered his singing talents at the age of 5. After receiving a prophetic word as a teenager, Owen decided to pursue music and ministry as a career, and he has been making strides ever since. He has collaborated with Mariah Carey, Kim Burrell, Alvin Slaughter, to name a few. He is the vocal director of Brian Hamilton & Divine Worship, a group whose sophomore album peaked at number 4 on the iTunes inspirational charts. Owen is the Music Director of EBC Meeting Place (Emmanuel Baptist Church) in Hammonds Plains and the Music Director for the Nova Scotia Mass Choir
Juanita Peters - Juanita Peters is a playwright, actor and film director. Peters has over 30 years of media experience. Her early career included radio and television host/reporter for various networks including CBC NB and AVR. Member of ACTRA, Writers Guild of Canada (WGC), Actors Equity (CAEA), Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre( PARC) and a founding member of Women In Film & Television Atlantic (WIFT-AT.)
